• What is the difference between a regular TAFE SA qualification and a Dual Offer qualification at TAFE SA?

  Both qualifications are exactly the same and have the same requirements. The Dual Offer, however, gives you the added benefit of automatic entry and credit transfer into the specified Uni degree once you have graduated from the TAFE SA qualification.

• Why apply for a Dual Offer over direct entry to Uni?

  • Didn’t meet the ATAR score? This alternative pathway allows for guaranteed university admission
  • Ability to begin your degree whilst in a regional areas, save study time, lower fees and living expenses
  • Combining the vocational experience of a VET qualification with the academic and professional benefit of a Bachelor degree

• How much credit will I get for my TAFE SA studies in the University course?

  Each Dual Offer course has credit arrangements in place between TAFE SA and the relevant university. Check out how many credits you will get on our Credit Transfer page. 
  

• Do I need to fill out another application to go to University?

  TAFE SA Dual Offer students will not need to re-apply through SATAC for entry into the specified degree. Before you complete the TAFE SA part of your Dual Offer, you will be contacted by the university to advise of the process of transitioning to the uni degree. 
  

• Can I take a gap between finishing at TAFE SA and starting at University?

  Your Dual Offer provides guaranteed entry to the relevant university in the next available intake for the specified degree. However, you may be able to defer admission into the degree through negotiation with the university. Please contact the university upon completing your TAFE SA qualification for deferral options.
  

• Can a Dual Offer applicant change their preference?

  You can change course preferences until the set TAFE SA application closing date for the semester. Check our Important dates.
  

• I’m already studying the TAFE SA program and I want to get a Dual Offer

  Once you have successfully completed the TAFE SA course, if your TAFE SA course is listed as a Dual Offer, you can apply to the Dual Offer university for the specified Degree and you will be guaranteed admission and credit transfer.
  
  If your course isn’t listed as a Dual Offer you might still get credit or guaranteed admission into Uni. Check the credit transfer webpage or visit the University website for options.
  

• I am current Dual Offer student about to graduate from TAFE SA, what do I do next?

  The university sends out emails/letters to Dual Offer students who are about to complete their TAFE SA study, advising of the next step. However if you have not received information from the University about the transition process, please contact the relevant University to begin the transition process.
