The world is your oyster with aquaculture and maritime operations

If you love the ocean, a career in aquaculture or maritime operations could be just what you want. Aquaculture is the farming of aquatic organisms, including fish, molluscs, crustaceans and aquatic plants – it’s farming seafood. Aquaculture can be done in the ocean, indoor tanks, dams and purpose-built ponds, in both marine and freshwater environments. Sustainable aquaculture practices are clean, green, and safe. A TAFE SA aquaculture course prepares you for a career in aquaculture industries at technician or management level. If you’d like to be on the water, a qualification in maritime operations can take you to sea in vessels of up to 12 metres.  Be a coxswain on a ferry or fishing tour boat, become a crew member, or add this to your skill set as an officer in border protection and coastal community work.
