Description

This course is designed for pre-intermediate level students for whom English is an additional language. It aims to develop social, educational and vocational goals and develop competencies in speaking, listening, reading and writing to function effectively within the Australian community. It can prepare students to look for work in the future and develop skills for further study.

  • To be eligible for this fee free course you must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, bridging visa or skilled migrant visa holder. You must provide evidence of visa letter at time of enrolment

Entry Recommendations
This course is for students learning English as another language. You will need a pre-intermediate level of English for this course.

Attendance Requirements (subject to change)
Classes for full time students are for four hours a day, four days a week. Classes for part-time students are for three hours a day, two days a week.

Mandatory Requirements
This course is free for eligible students. To be eligible, you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident; or hold a skilled migrant or bridging visa. You will need to show evidence of your visa when you enrol.

    Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.

    Certificate II in English Proficiency (10854NAT)
    The nationally accredited Certificate II in English Proficiency (CEP II) is delivered in this course. The course is responsive to individual needs and is taught by a team of teachers with wide experience and specialist skills in this area. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 7 core units and 3 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
