This is a full time course and you will spend a significant amount of time in self directed study and activities off campus.

Industry Conditions and Skills
It is important that you understand and have the following:

  • Basic knowledge of the different roles within the film and television industry
  • Ability to work in a team crewing for film and television shoots using good communication, social, collaboration and teamwork skills
  • A good level of physical fitness for handling required equipment and meeting the expectations required by industry in job roles
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Initiative regarding planning, organising and meeting needs of study
  • Problem resolution skills
  • Interest in working with people to achieve individual as well as team orientated goals

    Story telling through moving images is an art form that is becoming increasingly popular. Graduates are equipped to gain employment at production and creation of media content suitable for film, TV and video production. Qualifications in Screen and Media will provide graduates with skills and knowledge to be able to communicate via the screen for both film and television production. Employment opportunities may include producer; director; screen writer; cinematographer; production manager; coordinator picture or sound editor.

    Advanced Diploma Program in Film and Television Production
    This course equips graduates with specific skills in their preferred area, and the comprehensive skills required for today's screen industry. Students will further advance their skills in their specialist areas within television and film production. This includes writing for the screen, producing / production management, cinematography and directing for film & television, as well as post production practices. Develop advanced skills in location based short dramas & documentaries & studio set based television production. 4 core units plus 12 electives.
