Entry Recommendations
If you do not have relevant qualifications or industry experience, you will be enrolled into a Certificate IV in Information Technology (Web Development) before starting this course.

Attendance Requirements (subject to change)
Full time study is approximately 20 hours of class time per week with 15-20 hours of self-study.

Additional Uniforms, Equipment and Costs

  • $300.00 (approximate) for 1TB SSD portable hard drive, webcam, and headset with microphone.
  • access to a computer and a good internet connection as you will be using virtual machines for learning activities and assessments.
  • Virtual machines are obtained from your campus or the internet.
    Virtual machine file sizes vary but are generally above 20GB.

    This course covers the whole life cycle for commercially ready websites. Back-end web development zeroes in on the server-side elements of a webpage – such as the scripting, databases, and general architectural features that keep it up and running. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 6 core units and 14 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
