Attendance Requirements (subject to change)
Full time study is around 20 hours of class time a week with 15 to 20 hours of self directed study.

Industry Conditions and Skills
If you are studying online, you will need a webcam and the hardware to run the class resources. We recommend the following as the minimum needed; Intel i5 CPU or equivalent AMD, 16GB of RAM, 1Tb SSD, internet access, webcam, headset with microphone.

Additional Uniforms, Equipment and Costs

  • $300.00 (approximate) for 1TB SSD portable hard drive, webcam, and headset with microphone.
  • You will need access to a computer and a good internet connection as you will be using virtual machines for learning activities and assessments.
    Virtual machines are obtained from your campus or the internet.
    Virtual machine file sizes vary but are generally above 20GB.

  • Employment Outcomes

    This program provides a range of skills required for employment in the ICT, and digital media industry including skills in information technology hardware, networking using CISCO and Microsoft technologies and virtual machines. Possible job roles include IT support technician, database and systems administrator, IT security.

    This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a wide range of general information and communications technology (ICT) technologies and practices in different organisational contexts. The focus of this course is on system administration support. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 7 core units and 13 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
