Description

Learn all the trade secrets of painters and decorators in this comprehensive course for apprentices. You will gain skills in all the practical and theoretical aspects of the trade and learn hands-on skills from our specialist teachers who are experienced industry professionals. This is a nationally recognised trade qualification that covers work in residential and commercial projects. You will also learn all the technical and management skills you need to run your own business as a painting and decorating contractor.

Students will need to purchase and wear your own Industry required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety footwear to comply with AS/NZS 2210 with non-slip soles and steel capped boots, safety glasses and appropriate workwear (eg long pants, long sleeve hi-vis shirt) for access to TAFE SA workshops and respirators to comply with AS/NZS 1715:2009

    This qualification covers safety, organisation, communication, measurements and calculations, interpreting plans and specifications and costing construction work. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 26 core units plus 3 electives.
