Description

Gain the practical skills and technical knowledge you need to progress your career in the viticulture industry. This nationally-recognised qualification will be individually tailored to suit your particular position in the vineyard with training and assessment both on and off the job. Learn to work within a production or production support role with a focus on grape growing, and wine grape production. Develop your knowledge of food safety programs, quality systems and procedures, workplace safety, safe chemical use, irrigation operations, and operating tractors and vineyard equipment. You will enhance your opportunities in the viticulture industry with TAFE SA.

Classes for this course are scheduled around seasonality. Classes occur in various wine regions across the state. The course can take up to 42 months to complete.

    This qualification describes the skills and knowledge required for operational workers in the wine industry with a focus on tasks related to viticulture, harvesting and post-harvesting. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 4 core units and 15 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
