Industry Conditions and Skills
Group exercise instructors use discretion and judgement and work with some independence and under limited supervision when instructing groups. It is likely that employers in the fitness industry will expect graduates to be at least 18 years of age in order to employ them.

  • Employment Outcomes

    Work independently with some level of autonomy in a controlled environment such as fitness, leisure, aquatic and community centres where risks are managed through pre-existing risk assessment and hazard control processes.

    This course covers health screening, fitness programs, anatomy and physiology, healthy eating, quality service and maintaining equipment. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 11 core units and 4 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
