Employment Outcomes
Apprentices will learn how to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment in buildings. The courses covers Electrical Regulatory Authorities Council (ERAC) requirements for an electrician’s licence.
Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.
Qualifications & Skills Covered
Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
(UEE30820)
This course covers the basic requirement to register as an Electrical Worker in South Australia.
Upon completion, students are eligible to apply for an Unrestricted, Unsupervised Electrical Workers Registration in South Australia.
To complete the qualification, you are required to complete 990 core weighting points plus 120 general elective weighting points.
TAFESA offer a number of campuses and study modes aimed at providing a variety of options for employers.
For the metropolitan area, a choice of two study options across the metro area are available, these being day and block (week) delivery:

Standard delivery method is “Day Attendance” which is 1 day per week, approximately 40 attendance days per year

Enrolment periods are restricted to two intakes per year, these being late-January and mid-July*

“Block Attendance” is by negotiation only and reserved primarily for regionally based students to support travel and accommodation requirements, this is 1 week per month (Approximately 40 attendance days per year)

Please be aware that enrolments received after the January/July intake may be asked to defer their training for up to 6 months when they will be placed in the next available intake.
Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
