Get the qualification you need to gain an entry level role in agriculture or go on to further study in the field with TAFE SA. You can choose livestock production or cropping as your job focus, or study both if you’re working on a mixed farming enterprise. Get the key skills you need to work with animals and livestock. Become an assistant animal attendant or stockperson or begin your career on the land as a general farm or station worker.

    This course provides an entry level occupational outcome in agriculture. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include Assistant Animal attendant/Stockperson, Assistant Farm or Station Hand, Assistant Farm or Station Worker, Assistant Farm or Station Labourer.

    Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.

    This qualification enables individuals to select a livestock production or cropping context as a job focus or, in the case of mixed farming enterprises, both. To complete the qualification, you are required to complete all 4 core units and 12 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
