  • Advanced Diploma of Skin Therapy Pre-Entry Short Course or
  • equivalent skills and knowledge to each of the units in the Skin Therapy Pre-Entry Units

Entry Recommendations

  • If you have completed the Diploma of Beauty Therapy, you will meet the Course Admission Requirements, and some units will also be credited to the Advanced Diploma of Skin Therapy.
  • Information on how to access the Advanced Diploma of Skin Therapy Pre-Entry Short Course will be emailed to you after you apply.

Attendance Requirements (subject to change)

  • Attendance is from 9.00am to 5.00pm on campus 1 day a week.
    All units must be completed in the semester of study.
  • Advanced Diploma of Skin Therapy Pre-Entry Units attendance: Semester 1 will require attendance on Mondays for the first 4 weeks of the semester AND on Tuesdays for the whole semester. Semester 2 will require attendance on Wednesdays for the first term of the semester transitioning into the Advanced Diploma in the second term of the semester to complete microdermabrasion.

Industry Conditions and Skills
We recommend that you are interested in working with people, have good communication skills and a reasonable level of fitness to stand for long periods.

Additional Uniforms, Equipment and Costs

  • Skin Therapy kit $350.00 and uniform $70.00 (approximate costs).
  • Advanced Diploma of Skin Therapy Pre-Entry Kit $150 and uniform $70.00 (approximate costs).

Mandatory Requirements

  • If you do not hold the 5 units or equivalent competencies listed below you will need to register into the Advanced Diploma of Skin Therapy Pre-Entry Units to complete these over 2 semesters of study at an additional cost of $1250.
  • Advanced Diploma of Skin Therapy Pre-Entry Units:
  • SHBBFAS005 Provide facial treatments and skin care recommendations OR SHBBFAS002 Provide facial treatments and skin care recommendations
  • SHBBFAS006 Provide specialised facial treatments OR SHBBFAS003 Provide specialised facial treatments
  • SHBBINF002 Maintain infection control standards OR HLTINF005 Maintain infection prevention for skin penetration treatments
  • SHBBSSC001 Incorporate knowledge of skin structure and functions into beauty therapy
  • SHBBSSC002 Incorporate knowledge of body structures and functions into beauty therapy Or:
  • Ability to demonstrate equivalent skills and knowledge to each of the above units of competency.

    Our program ensures you gain the essential skills needed in the industry, including skin analysis, specialised facials, skin care recommendations, microdermabrasion, and more. To complete the qualification, you are required to complete all 10 core units and 5 elective units.
