Do you like variety in your work? Then a job in the travel and tourism industry is for you. You would perform a broad range of tasks using discretion and judgement. The industry is very flexible and is designed to meet a broad range of employment outcomes. The types of organisations you would be employed in include tourism business requiring multi-skilled employees, and specialist attractions e.g. wineries or museums, or operators and travel agents.

    Individuals with this qualification are able to work in any sector of the Tourism industry as a Senior Manager, General Manager or Owner/Operator of any style of small tourism business.

  • Education Requirements

    There are currently no educational requirements needed to become a Senior Tourism and Travel Manager, however, it's becoming increasingly desirable among employers that managers have some formal training.

    TAFE SA offers a Diploma of Travel and Tourism, and a Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management that focus on the management and business skills necessary to become a successful manager.

    Pathways include the Certificate III in Travel and Certificate III in Tourism.
