Short course enrolment requires full payment upfront, prior to the commencement of the course.
You can enrol yourself and/or others into a short course by visiting the course page on the TAFE SA website, selecting the relevant date, time and location, and then adding the course to your cart. You can add multiple courses to your cart before checking out.
You will be asked to provide your personal details (name, email, DOB and address).
If you are enrolling into an accredited short course you will also be asked to provide your USI, residency and language, education, and employment details.
If you are enrolling somebody else on their behalf you will only be required to provide their name, phone and email. The student will then be contacted by TAFE SA and asked to provide the remainder of their required details to confirm their enrolment.
Payment via the TAFE SA website must be made using Visa or MasterCard.
There may be age restrictions for some short courses – please note that these are listed on the course page under the Pre-requisites.
If you are 16 or under and enrolled at school, you must have permission from your school to attend a short course if it is scheduled during a school term and hours.
For students under the age of 16 you must have a parent or guardian sign a consent form – this will be sent to you upon registration.
TAFE SA short courses are offered across a range of program areas and provide you with the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills and hands-on experience for personal or professional development, industry skills or compliance, or for your own general interest.
Short courses run for varying durations. Some courses can be completed within one or two days, while others will run part time over one or more months.
Short courses may be accredited or non-accredited. Accredited short courses are linked to a nationally recognised unit of competency and you will receive a Statement of Attainment upon successful completion of the course. To enrol into an accredited short course you will require a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Learn more about nationally recognised training and the Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Non-accredited short courses provide you with practical skills and knowledge for your personal or professional life. You will receive an Acknowledgement of Training upon completion of a non-accredited short course.
Short courses will not result in a qualification.
Fees will vary, depending on the duration and materials required for the short course.
Enrolment into a short course is not confirmed until payment has been made in full. In some cases, there will be extra costs associated with a course, such as consumables. Please refer to the relevant short course webpage for more details on the course fees.
Some short courses may be offered under South Australian Government funding subsidies.

Temporary residents on a different visa subclass (not subclass 500) must check with Immigration before enrolling into a short course to ensure that any conditions of the entry visa are complied with. TAFE SA cannot accept responsibility for failure to comply with visa conditions.
All short courses are subject to minimum numbers.
TAFE SA will contact you 3-5 business days before the scheduled start date to confirm if the course is going ahead. If your course requires you to purchase additional equipment or supplies we recommend that you wait until you receive your confirmation email before purchasing.
If the course is cancelled by TAFE SA due to low enrolment numbers or unforeseen circumstances you will receive a full refund.
A full refund will be provided if:
All requests for refunds must be submitted by completing the short course withdrawal / refund form prior to the course date. A full refund will not be granted if the request is received after the short course delivery has commenced.

*Where the short course refund/withdrawal is in relation to subsidised training for which a Training Account has been created, unless otherwise requested the Training Account will be closed.
