TAFE SA offers ELICOS, VET and higher education courses to overseas students. To provide education and training services to international students TAFE SA must comply with rules and regulations required by the Federal Government and the National Regulators ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority) and TEQSA (Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency).

The Act requires that overseas students on a student visa study with an education provider and in a course that can be found on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). CRICOS registration guarantees that the course and the education provider at which you study meet the high standards necessary for overseas students. TAFE South Australia courses are registered on CRICOS as TAFE South Australia CRICOS number 00092B.

The ESOS Framework has been designed to establish and maintain national standards for the provision of education and training services. The legislation aims to protect international students and guarantee quality education. It also enables the Department of Education, Skills and Employment to take action against providers who are found in breach of their obligations. This Framework relates only to students who are enrolled in an onshore program and remain in Australia on a Student Visa. It does not apply to students undertaking offshore programs or remaining in Australia on a temporary visa other than a Student Visa.
The Tuition Protection Services (TPS) is an initiative of the Australian Government to assist international students whose education providers are unable to fully deliver their course of study. Where TAFE SA is unable to assist an international student to either complete their studies in another TAFE SA course, identify another education provider, or receive a refund of their unspent tuition fees, the TPS will be able to provide further assistance.
