Fell Small Trees - Kangaroo Island

Description

This introductory level course covers the skills and knowledge required to fell small trees where hazards have been assessed as low risk.

This course is suitable for people working in the Arboriculture, Agriculture & Horticulture, and/or Conservation industries, as well as members of the general public who may be looking at undertaking small tree felling on their own property.

The Fell Small Trees course will cover the following topics:
- prepare and maintain equipment
- determine the tree felling conditions
- direction of fall
- safe fall zone
- exclusion zone and escape route
- safe tree felling techniques
- safe tree removal techniques

All students are required to wear long pants & safety boots.

To be eligible for this short course you must have completed Chainsaw Operation and Maintenance. If you have not already completed this prerequisite unit please check the Chainsaw Operation and Maintenance short course page for details on upcoming dates and locations.
