This course is designed to support gaining entry level employment in Accounting and Bookkeeping job roles including; Accounts assistant, BAS agent, Payroll officer, Accounts Payable Officer, Accounts Receivable Officer, Contracted bookkeeper, Finance officer and Accounts supervisory. In addition, this course provides you with the skills and knowledge required to record and prepare payroll documentation, respond to enquiries and process accurate payroll data for manual and computerised systems. Also, this course provides you with the skills & knowledge required to identify and apply Australian Tax Office (ATO) compliance requirements to effectively process and complete Business Activity Statements (BAS), instalment activity statements (IAS) and other required reports. This Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) approved course meets the education requirements set out by the TPB for those requiring board approved courses for BAS Agent registration and renewal. You will learn the following skills: Process Payroll - Payroll system and legislation - Superannuation obligations - Payment summaries and payroll calculations - Manual payroll and accounting for salaries and wages - Setting up the Xero payroll command centre - Processing personal leave - Holiday pay and leave loading - Payroll tax liabilities - End of year procedures and reconciling payroll - Salary sacrifice - Timesheets - Calculating a termination payment Prepare Business Activity Statements: - Identify and apply Australian Tax Office (ATO) compliance requirements to effectively process and complete Business Activity Statements (BAS) & instalment activity statements (IAS) and other required reports - Enter transactions in Xero - Adjustments & Corrections in BAS WHO'S IT FOR? The course is designed for small business owners, job seekers, students and graduates seeking part-time or entry level employment in the areas of accounting, bookkeeping, business and financial services. To undertake this course you must meet the following pre-requisites (evidence must be attached with your registration): - Completion of Bookkeeping Essentials for Small Business Owners, Job Seekers & Migrants (Part 1) - this course provides the practical vocational skills in areas including business tax calculations and day to day computerised bookkeeping using Xero (provide an academic transcript or certificate) OR - Completion of any Xero adviser certification or Xero payroll certification course WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW - Fully online and self-paced - 8 weeks in duration - If you study 10-12 hours per week, we estimate that you will be able to complete the course in this 8 week time frame - You will require access to Microsoft Windows to complete this course - The course has either written or oral supervised assessments. You will require access to video chat for assessment purposes - You may be required to purchase textbooks at an additional cost of approximately $178.00.
