This skill set is designed to prepare candidates to sit the NAATI Certified Provisional Interpreter test by providing essential knowledge of the basic interpreting principles and techniques. The course meets the minimum training requirements set by NAATI and is recommended for candidates who are already in (or are well placed to be in) interpreting or language-related roles within a workplace or community.

The interpreting skill set is delivered and assessed in English. Students practice in language pairs where possible to provide each other with language-specific feedback.

- Ethics in interpreting and translating
- Preparation for an interpreting or translating assignment
- Building glossaries
- Interpreting techniques
