TAESS00019 - Assessor Skill Set

Description

This skill set provides the necessary skills and knowledge for people to conduct assessment and operate without supervision in the vocational education and training (VET) sector, in accordance with the Standards for RTOs.

These units provide credit towards TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and other qualifications that allow for selection of these units.

This skill set meets the minimum education requirement for assessors operating without supervision in applicable VET legislation, frameworks and/or standards.

This skill set is for individuals wishing to obtain the assessment competencies to assess according to VET system requirements.

  • Completion of the Training Account Consent Form - you are required to upload a completed form at the time of enrolment. You can download a copy of the form under the Files & Resources tab below.

    This course is fee free via a joint initiative of the Australian and South Australian Governments and you must meet criteria to be eligible for a fee free place.

  • This course is not suitable for school students/leavers.

    What to expect:

    Online classes once a week delivered via Blackboard Collaborate and access to learning resources on LEARN.
    You can expect to spend approximately 10 - 12 hours per week on study and assessment.
    Written and practical assessments.
    Practical assessments will require access to "others" to complete.
    These assessments can be completed in your workplace (videoed for assessor) or on campus. (assessed by facilitator)

Short Course Delivery Locations Some short courses can provide accreditation for industry-specific registration, while others merely provide skills and knowledge in the subject area. Concession prices are available for some courses.
