SHORT COURSE

Introduction to Translating Skill Set - Enrolment for Online subsidised - all 4 units

Description

This course meets the minimum prerequisite training requirements set by NAATI for the Certified Translator test and is designed to prepare candidates for this test by providing guidance in translating techniques; it does not aim to produce fully trained translators. This course is for candidates who are already in (or are well placed to be in) translating or language-related roles within a workplace or community.

Students will complete 4 units and 7 assessments over 12 weeks which will cover:
- Ethics in Interpreting and Translating
- Preparation for an Interpreting or Translating assignment
- Building glossaries
- Translating techniques

It is highly recommended that students allocate additional time during the week for private study.

The course is delivered in English and students are provided with the opportunity to receive language-specific feedback through a sample translation (not for assessment purposes).

South Australian State Government funding subsidies apply for this course. Eligibility criteria apply. The full course cost applies for students who are not eligible for State Government funding subsidies.
