Description

Be prepared to save someone’s life in an emergency. In this course you will gain the necessary skills to maintain breathing and circulation in an adult or infant following cardiac arrest. Students are trained by Paramedics and other health professionals with extensive industry experience, providing authentic learning opportunities for dealing with emergency situations.

On successful completion of the course, you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment in:
• HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is recommended for renewal every 12 months as per the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice.

  • Whilst there are no formal pre-requisites for this course, participants must be 14 years of age or older and have a basic level of literacy and numeracy. During your cardiopulmonary resuscitation training you will be required to work at a range of heights levels, and to roll onto your back, side and/or stomach. You are required to kneel and demonstrate at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the floor as per the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
  • An online e-book will be made available to you upon enrolment for pre-reading before your course. A link to this resource will be provided in your confirmation email

Short Course Delivery Locations Some short courses can provide accreditation for industry-specific registration, while others merely provide skills and knowledge in the subject area. Concession prices are available for some courses.
